Dr Alex Shaw undertook his doctorate at Oxford University in Basin analysis of structural control, chemical and clastic sedimentation within the Mega Kalahari Basin of Southern Africa. He worked with the NASA Planetary Science Institute, investigating analogous Earth and Martian geological environments. Dr Shaw’s strong background in geology paved the way for him to embark on a career in the mining sector, during the course of which he has managed and overseen over $80bn worth of investments across several asset classes. Dr Shaw currently serves on the board of publicly listed and quoted companies including Peregrine Gold Limited, NGX Limited and Landore Resources. His financial acumen and experience in managing funds for investors across a range of asset classes has earned him a glowing reputation across the financial sector. Dr Shaw is one of the founding directors at Stock Capital, he has a depth of experience in managing funds and structuring financial products tailored to underlying vanilla or complex assets in a manner that delivers target returns for stakeholders.
